ColliDream is designed for collimation of mirror and lens optical systems.
The collimator contains a luminous crosshair (sight), the brightness of which can be adjusted simply by holding the hand controller button. The collimator also has a lens objective that forms reflected images of the sight from the optical surfaces of the telescope.
Reflected images of a luminous sight provide a more visual representation of the planes of optical surfaces, compared to reflected points in point collimators. And the relative position of the reflected images of the sight makes it possible to evaluate not only the displacement of the optical surfaces in the plane relative to the center of the crosshair, but also their mutual skew.
Collimation of the telescope is carried out by combining (combining) all the sight images into a single crosshair and concentric picture.
You can view the reflected images of the collimator sight through a 1.25″ eyepiece or using a camera with a 1.25″ fit, on the PC screen. But using a camera to display an image built by a collimator on a PC is much more convenient, and at the same time the collimation process is simplified.
The metal body of the collimator has an external mounting size of 1.25″ (with a thread for a filter inside). Two inch focusers require a 2″ to 1.25″ adapter. The collimator is equipped with a simple threaded focuser for an eyepiece or camera. Using a filter, an additional set of reflected images is created to align the optical axis with the axis of the focusing unit.
The LED collimator is powered by a 12 V power supply (5.5 x 2.1 mm connector).
